Meeting Times
We will be meeting on Day 4 from 8:10 - 9:05.
Projects 2017
This year, I'm excited to announce that we will be participating in the Noetic Learning Mathematics Contest. This is a national math contest whose message is to inspire young students to believe it is cool to be good at math! You can find more information about this at www.noetic-learning.com/mathcontest
Engineering - Students will be engineering a variety of different tools and items. We will be building a catapult and then taking that into the next phase of constructing a trebuchet based on what we have learned. Next up will be a skyscraper and then... Let's see what we come up with next!
Landforms - Students will choose a state they are interested in learning about. They will research that state and determine the prominent landforms that are in that state. They will be creating a poster size layout of their state and then add 3d topography depicting those landforms. They will also need to prepare a final presentation that discusses the landforms, how they were created and the role they play in the state and present this to their class. Native Americans - Based on what they have learned in the classroom, student teams will choose a section of the United States and study the Native Americans who resided in this geographic area. They will create both an online presentation about what they have researched, create a display board with facts about their tribes and also create some 3D displays of certain aspects of Native American life. Students will then present what they have learned to their classmates. |
